After defeating Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt significantly altered the belt. His face stretches across the front with “help” and “hurt” carved into the sides.
Corey Graves isn’t impressed. On the December 4 episode of “After the Bell,” a podcast that Graves hosts, he offered this critique,
“The championship is very cool visually but I have a problem with these customized championships. I always have. I hated when Stone Cold [Steve Austin] had the smoking skull belt. Yeah, it was cool, but all of a sudden the WWE Championship with all its history now is customized to one guy.”
He continued,
“I think it devalues the Championship as a whole. In our business, everything is fluid. It’s constantly evolving.” Graves believes the one thing that should remain constant is the Championship.
Graves better watch what he says. If “The Fiend” overhears him, he might want to come play.
