Disney’s Mulan broke the internet today with its debut trailer, bringing Liu Yifei‘s version of the classic female warrior to life for the first time.
The trailer is pushing 3 million views. It was met with both acclaim and resistance, especially with regard to the lack of the movie’s deuteragonist Mushu.
Yifei promises to bring honor to us all, though. She tweeted, “Loyal. Brave. True. I will bring honor to us all. See Disney’s #Mulan in theaters March 27, 2020.”
The American-Chinese actress is best known for The Forbidden Kingdom, The Assassins, and Once Upton A Time.
Mulan follows Disney’s most recent live-action remakes of The Lion King, Dumbo, Aladdin, and others.
