One of the NFL‘s most notorious troublemakers, Le’Veon Bell found himself on the receiving end of yet another NFL Human Growth Hormone, or HGH, blood test. The New York Jets‘ running back said this is his sixth test of the year, which is far more frequent than most players are required to prove their innocence.
On Friday, December 27, he received a notice stating:
“This is an HGH blood test. You have been randomly selected by the NFL drug testing program’s Medical Advisor to complete a doping test today. Please report to the drug testing area (testing room) immediately to complete your test and to address any questions you may have. A valid government or team issued photo identification is required.”
“I bet I don’t,” Bell responded on Twitter, indicating that he might not show up for the test.
“[I have] had five ‘random’ HGH blood test in 10 weeks,” said Bell in late November, after being tested for a fifth time. “NFL, I’m not doing another after today, whatever y’all [are] looking for, it obviously [isn’t] there, and I’m not about to keep allowing y’all to stick me with those dirty [explitive] needles. Find the players who really do that HGH [explitive] and get off me.”
Currently, there is no word on whether or not Bell took the test. If he didn’t, a suspension is likely, though the former Steelers’ running back is no stranger to suspensions or missing games.
